Super AV – New interface, same rogue
Posted by Denny under Rogue Anti-Spyware
Developers behind rogue Antivirii 2011 has been hard at work on their latest clone, Super AV. This malicious rogue antispyware application was designed with the sole purpose of ripping you off, and never living up to any of its over embellished promises. Although Super AV will do everything in its power to make you believe in its legitimacy, users are warned against believing any correspondence received from this vicious rogue. The truth is Super AV is unable to detect or remove any type of threat from the system.
Super AV uses various advanced attack tactics such as hijacked websites and browser hijackers to gain surreptitious access to its victims’ PCs. This way it manages to surreptitiously infiltrate your system without you even knowing about it, and then only alerting you of its presence once it starts its campaign of terror.
The first clue the user will have to the presence of Super AV on the system will come from the rogue initiating a fake security scan each time the user logs on to Windows. This will be the first clue the user will have as to the actual presence of Super AV on the system. The fake scan will only conjure up fake security threats, as expected. Once it finishes ‘scanning’ the system, Super AV will impose fake security alerts on the user, some of which reads as follows:
Super AV – Malware detected
Threats have been detected!
