VirusBursters is a rogue anti-spyware application that notoriously sends hoax PC threat warnings to computer browsers as means of luring users in purchasing and downloading the whole version of the application. Also known as a morph program of VirusBurst, VirusBursters will gravely affect the speed and performance of infected computers.

VirusBursters’s update notification is similar to the Windows update balloon. Users are then tricked into clicking the message. The notification balloon will read “System detected virus activities. They may cause critical system failure. Please, use anti-malware software to clean and protect your system from parasite programs. Click this ballon to get all available software.”

Once clicked, VirusBursters will direct you to a web site where you are prompted to purchase. Additional spyware may come bundled with VirusBursters and will install without your permission. VirusBursters is a clone of the disreputable Spyware Quake, VirusBurst, VirusBurster, VirusBlast.
