VirusBurster is a fake anti-spyware program. VirusBurster is classified as a Rogue Anti-Spyware application as is often downloaded and installed without user knowledge or consent. VirusBurster is installed by a Trojan or through browser security holes. VirusBurster launches on Windows startup and may generate large numbers of popup adverts. VirusBurster will also display notifications of imaginary security risks in its attempts to get the user to purchase the full version. VirusBurster and other Rogue Anti-Spyware programs can be extremely difficult to remove manually, and will continue to try to recreate itself. VirusBurster is a variant of VirusBurst. It is affiliated with the Zlob trojan, and is a major security risk.

VirusBurster is are closely related to Rogue Anti-Spyware programs such as VirusRescue, VirusBlast, SystemDoctor 2006, SpyHeal, Spyware Quake, BraveSentry.
