PSGuard is a Rogue Anti-Spyware program. PSGuard switches your Windows wallpaper and replaces with false security notifications reiterating that your computer has been infected with spyware. PSGuard changes your wallpaper in the effort to convince you to purchase PSGuard or a similar rogue anti-spyware remover (namely Winhound). A root-kit is used to protect the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ShudderLTD in the PSGuard install making it difficult to fully remove PSGuard.
