Posted by Denny under Rogue Anti-Spyware

It is plain to see that AV Protection 2012 is not just another rogue antispyware tool – this rogue possesses advanced attack capabilities that will render its victim’s PC completely inoperable. This malicious threat derives from the same seditious family of rogues as OpenCloud Security, Cloud Protection and OpenCloud Antivirus. It was never designed to be of any use to a PC, but instead to merely act as a sly vehicle with which to rip honest consumers off.

The rogue will edit the system’s registry and make it so that a fake security scan will appear at start up. This fake security scan will inform the user that his PC is under attack, and that he should purchase an AV Protection 2012 license in order to protect his system and remove these alleged threats..
